Dave Jackson Named
SAR Award Recipient

Dave Jackson has been picked for the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) award. He will receive the SAR medal at the Senior Honors Assembly, June 1.

The selection of the winner is made by both the students and the faculty. First, all the seniors are asked to pick three people they feel deserve this award. Then the faculty has to choose which one best meets all the requirements to be an SAR winner.

In order to be picked for the award, this student must have first met four basic requirements. The first is dependability in which Dave proved himself by

receiving the Outstanding Youth Award. Next is cooperation. This requirement was met because he was a Maine West representative for the Central Suburban League. For leadership, Dave was president of his Junior Class and is president of Student Council. He is also a member of the Brotherhood Society, which meets the requirement for patriotism.

Dave has also received a Business Education and Science Education awards, has been a letterman for three years, and captain of the football team for one. All of these things have helped him in being picked for the SAR award.
