Aquiana Adds Final Touches

BY CRAIG DONOHUE

This year's Aquiana presentation, entitled "Another Opening, Another Show," will be held in the Maine West Natatorium on Friday and Saturday, Apr. 20‑21, at 8 p.m. Tickets can be bought from Aquaina Club members, or they can also be bought at the door before the performance. The cost of the tickets is $1.

Maine West's Aquiana Club presents an annual show with a different theme each year. This year's theme is Broadway shows and movies. The girls will perform choreographed routines of various strokes and movements to such favorites as "Fiddler on the Roof," "Saturday Nigh Fever," "Exodus," and a special salute to the music of George M. Cohen.

Each of the 30 members in the club participate and perform in the production. Aquiana officers this year include: Eileen Kramer '79, president; Lynn Paulsen '79, vice‑president; and Sue Costen '80, secretary‑treasurer. The officers, along with the 27 other members of the club, have been working on the show since the beginning of March.

The show, which will last approximately one hour, has in addition to production numbers, solos and duets. Eileen Kramer, will perform a solo to the music of the hit show, "The Sound of Music." Lynn Paulsen will perform a duet along with Linda Reppert '80 to the music of "My Fair Lady."

Jan Locke '81 will perform a second solo to the music of "Exodus." Mary Morgan '80 and Donna Hill '80 will perform another duet to the hit disco music of "Saturday Night Fever." The remaining members of the club will perform various routines to other Broadway musical numbers.

The finale will be performed by all of the club members. Because of the wide variety of music the show should be a good one. All of the proceeds earned by the show will go to the production costs of next year's show.

According to Mrs. Peggy Mitchell, the supervisor of the show, "This year's show should be really good, not only because of the popular theme, but also because of the girls' hard work, without whom the show never could have been possible."
