Maine West Offers Fine Club Activities |

| There are many clubs offered at Maine West this year that one could join. The best thing to do is become active in clubs and sports at Maine West over four years. Aviation Club allows students to follow the aviation interests of the members. Field trips of aerial navigation and weather, characteristics of flight speeches by private pilots are popular activities. Cheerleaders attend and cheer at athletic events during the school year. It takes a great deal of dedication, cooperation, and some self sacrifice to be a member of one of the squads. There are eight freshman, eight sophomores, and 14 varsity cheerleaders. Computer Club is a club for people who want to battle the "black box," also known as the computer. One can master the keypunch machines, card sorter, and most important, the terminal. |
Debate Team prepares members for competition with other schools on the annual debate topic. The team is highly academic research for those interested in legal or political careers. "M" Club is for the Maine West letterman who has earned a varsity letter in athletics. The members run the concession stands for all home football and basketball games. The club also assists in purchasing equipment used in the athletic program. Pep Club is organized for the purpose of fostering school spirit and promoting attendance at athletic events. All students are eligible to join. Science Club is open to all students currently enrolled in a science course who wish to pursue classroom interests further than regular laboratory and classroom activity allows. |
