WMTH Looks Forward To Exciting School Year |
||||||||||
| WMTH, the radio voice of Maine Township, has started another year of broadcasting. With changes in programming and a competent staff, the station sounds better than ever. WMTH has dropped its classical music show "Great Composers, Great Music" in favor of a more contemporary, "No Rock, No Pop." The new show, which Maine West airs on Fridays from 11 a.m. until noon, features any and all music except rock and pop. WMTH-West also adds another "Experiment 88" to its schedule, Fridays at 1:30 p.m. In addition, Maine West keeps its traditional Tuesday afternoon "Soft and Easy," "88 Survey," and "Sounds" segments. |
This year's executive board, under leadership of sponsor Mr. Daryl Schultz and student station manager Margie Borris '81, consists of program director Dan Marquette '82, news director Mike Bashem '81, sports director Jim Ginanne '83, records librarian Jennifer Adams '81, and chief engineer Mike Drielcharz '81. "This year promises to be one of our best," said Margie Borris. "Our program 'Current Comment' is going to be more exciting this year. Among our guests are Tom Skilling of WGN, a representative of cable television, and a series of specialists from Forest Hospital. We are also adding a special recipe portion to our 'No Rock, No Pop'." WMTH, 88.5 FM, broadcasts every weekday from 8:30 am. until 5 p.m. Anyone interested in finding out more information about WMTH is invited to stop by the studio in R-201 anytime. |
