Girls' Tennis Coming Along
Girls' tennis is off to a good start this season. Their first game, played at Maine North on Thursday, Sept. 4, proved to be partially successful. The varsity level won, 6-1. One doubles team of Donna Logisz and Chris Melling won. Another doubles team of Debbie Lindeman, Karen Peterson, and Theresa Cochrane had to split sets. They had to go for three and won it. unfortunately, the JV lost. Both varsi-ty and JV lost to Niles North on Saturday. Sept. 6. at Niles North. Waukegan West was defeated by both levels on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The game was played at Waukegan West. The doubles team of Mary Carlson and Jill Kratochvil and singles Pat Cooke, Stephanie Baker, and Kathy Cooper aided their team to a 6-1 victory. The JV level shut out Waukegan West, 7-0.
