X-Country Doing Fine

The Maine West cross country teams started their season on Sept. 4 against teams from Wheeling, and since then every Saturday and Tuesday, meets have been held. The varsity has a record of four and zero.

John Dobbs is the first Warrior that crossed the finish line at the Wheeling meet, the Center meet that was held at Maine West, and the Maine North and South meet. Along with these meets there was one held at Proviso West in which the team placed seventh out of 18 teams. Chris Walsh won a ribbon at this meet.
The varsity is composed of seniors Jerry Kleiner, Joel Kratochvil, Mike Schachte, and Jeff Walsh. Tony Paul, a sophomore, is also on the team. Ron Lewis was out with an injury from summer school and now has permission from his doctor to go ahead and run after this Saturday.

Upcoming meets include Libertyville on the twentieth, and Glenbrook South here on the twenty-third, and the last meet of September is on the thirtieth at Maine East when they also run against Glenbrook North.
