American Legion Contest Held At West

This spring marks the forty-fifth year the American Legion Constitution test has been given.

The ten Warriors who were selected out of 400 to compete in the contest are Cary Coglianese '82, Michael Curtis '81, Dawn Fridley '81, Kathleen Kearns '81, Andrew McCune '82, Susan Nowak '81, David Ratner '82, Tracy Scheffel '81, Patty Schramek '81, and Michael Voyden '81.

Most of the students who competed were government students. Awards were a $400 first prize and a $200 second prize. The contest was held Thursday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m. in C-213 at Maine West.

Also in the social science department, the Field Museum notified Amy Huck '82 that she has been selected for participation in the Anthropology program for high ability students. This eight-week program is sponsored by the Field Museum National Science Foundation and chooses 35 of the top area high school students to study anthropology under the direction of 2 major university anthropologists.
