Warrior Boys' Harriers Finish In Third Place |

| The Maine West boys' track team took third place in their conference meet last Saturday. First places were taken by Chris Walsh in the mile run and Tom Boeckenhauer in the high hurdles. Boeckenhauer also placed second in the low hurdles. Other second places were captured by Wade Usyak in the high jump, Greg McClone in the discus, Steve Kampschroer in the triple jump, and John Dobbs in the two mile run. Dobbs also took fourth in the mile run. Two other fourth places were taken by Dave Vaccarello in the 440 run and the mile relay team of Rusty Becker, Joel Kratochvil, Boeckenhauer, and Vaccarello. Jim McArdle took third. Rob Olson led the freshman team to win their conference meet. The team placed in 16 of 17 events. In a recent meet against Niles West, the Warriors were defeated but placed high. Walsh took first in both the 880 and 1600 run with times of 1:56 and 4:18 respectively. Usyak took first in the high jump. Doug Ladendorf and Kampschroer placed first and second, respectively, in the triple jump. Dobbs took second in both the mile and two-mile run with times of 4:238 and 9:12 respectively. Rusty Becker placed second in the low hurdles. Kratochvil took third in the 440 run and Grant placed third in the two mile run with a time of 10:10. This weekend the boys will compete in District competition. |
