Aquiana Girls Swim For Annual Events
Recently, the Aquiana officers, Heidi Eilken '81, president; Kathy Lyons '82, vice-president; Jan Locke '81, secretary; Kathy Beireis '81, treasurer; and Debbie Robb ins '82, publicity and Mrs. Judy Paulson, sponsor, chose the new 1980-81 Aquiana Club members.

Girls trying out had to do a variety of stunts, along with skulling, and ballet legs. The 26 girls chosen include: first year members, Kristy Alajoki '84, Lisa Barth '84, Michelle Bibby '84, Eileen Cronin '84, Melissa Eilken '84, Cindy Groff '84, Jaclyn Holda '83, Eileen Hora '84, Linnea Ilker '84, Cherie Knol '84, Dia Pfeiffer '84, Marie Sievers '82, Eva Soltykiewicz '83, and Beth Vondestinon '84.

Second year members include, Kathy Biereis '81, Brigitte Brand '83, Kristen Davis '83, Lorrie Johnson '82, Debbie Mesenbrink '82, and Sharon Nowak '83. This year's third year members are Lisa Carter '82, Suzy Lietzau '82, Suzy Kadlec '82, Kathy Lyons '82, Michelle Pampenella '81, and Debbie Robbins '82. The seniors, who have been in for four years include: Heidi Eilken, Jan Locke, and Debbie Peters.
 Every Monday night until the show is put together, the club practices skills from 5-7 p.m. The show, which is tentatively scheduled for Apr. 24 and 25, is entitled, "Music in Motion." It will include several numbers, like floating and stroking routines. In the floating numbers, the girls form several designs on the surface of the water, supporting each other by holding on to their ankles in a lay-out position. The stroking numbers consist of synchronized arm strokes to the music.

Depending on their level, the girls are put into certain numbers, such as beginners, intermediate, and advanced swimmers performing stunts to music.

Heidi was quoted as saying this about the new members, "This year's freshmen are a higher grade of swimmers than in past years."

The club is planning to do something they have never done before this year. They are planning a matinee performance of the show to be held the Thursday before the show.
