Key Club Helps Raise Money for Needy People |
||||||||||
| On Friday, Sept. 26, Key Club members work up earlier than usual, put on their red aprons and went out to help Kiwanis sell peanuts for a fund raiser. Mr. Eldon Burk surpervised the students who were working on the corners of Oakton and Wolf and Algonquin and Wolf from 6 am. to 8 a. m. Those students were Mark Kelsey '81, Tim Ryan '82, Rudy Herter '81, and Tom Schmitt '81. Their purpose wasn't to make money; it was just to help the needy," said Mr. Floyd Raspiller, one of the Key Club sponsors. Ms. Helaine Cohen and Mr. Joe Stolz are the other two. |
A pancake breakfast was held for the students who helped in the fund raiser on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7:20 a.m. in room C-104. Key Club is affiliated with Kiwanis and the students who are in Key Club are usually eligible to join Kiwanis. In the past Mr. Burk has taken some students to Kiwanis meetings, and the students have been impressed to see what Kiwanis has done for our community. Key Club will try to follow in Kiwanis's footsteps. A meeting will be held in the near future to see what other activities Key Club will be doing this year. Also new members will be able to join and participate in future activities. Students of any age are eligible to join. |
