Tankers Doing Better

Last Tuesday the varsity girl tankers took on a tough team from Wheeling. The girls swam good races but did not defeat the Wheeling team. They lost with a close score of 84-88.

Lisa Carter finished first in the 200 freestyle and in the 100 butterfly. Heidi Eilken finished second in the 200 I.M. with Kathy Kearns close behind, finishing third. Eilken also placed first in the 100 backstroke. Kearns swam a good time of 1:25.101, finishing second in the 100 breaststroke. Kara Zonnavetch had her
first experience swimming on the varsity team. She finished fourth with a good time of 1:09.309 in the 100 freestyle, and anchored the relay team of Lisa Carter, Kathy Biereis, and Suzy Lietzau, who finished second. Kerry Nohelty, Liz Spielman, and Karen Harris finished their races with impressive times.

On Friday the girls lost to Glenbrook North, 56-116, on varsity, and 47-123, on junior varsity.

The girls will be home tonight swimming against Maine East at 4:30.
