Volleyball Team Winning
The Maine West volleyball teams have started their season out extremely well this year. The varsity has an overall record of 10-1, J.V., 10-1, and freshmen, 4-2.

On Sept. 12 and 13 the varsity played in the Summers End Tournament at New Trier East. The varsity defeated Evanston, Carl Sandburg, Maine East, Forest View, and New Trier East in the tournament. The varsity captured the first place title out of 16 teams that participated in the tournament.

On Sept. 24 they traveled to Lyons Township. The varsity won easily with the score of 15-8 and 15-2. The J.V. and freshmen both lost against Lyons. On Sept. 26 Maine West hosted Waukegan West and captured three wins. The varsity received an easy win with the		 score of 15-1 and 15-0. The J.V. won in two games, 15-9 and 15-3. The freshmen also won, 16-4 and 15-5. The volleyball teams played a home game against Glenbrook South. This was the first conference game, and all three levels won. The varsity stole the win by scoring 15-3 and 15-1. The J.V. had a win of 15-7 and 15-2. The freshmen also had a victory of 15-8 and 15-2.

The freshmen have a new co-coaching team this year. Ms. Mary Eileen Blohm and Ms. Leslie Gelander are the new coaches.

This weekend the J.V. competed in their first J.V. tournament. They played Maine South for the championship game. The J.V. took first place over 10 other schools.
