Clubs Have Fund Raisers To Finance Activities

Clubs find many ways to raise the money they need. The most popular is the sale of food, such as candy.

Says Mr. Eldon Burk, assistant principal, "Candy is always good because you're selling it to a student market." Some of the candy being sold this year is M&M's. Kit Kat's, and Reese's by Pom Pon, Turtles by Thespians, Halloween Candy by the Sophomore Class, and M&M's by Aquiana. Other food being sold includes popcorn by the band, and sausage and cheese. Of course, many groups sell baked goods all the ninth period and after school.
Food is not the only thing sold, though. Many other types of objects have been sold such as candles by the Junior Class, stuffed animals by Child Care Occupations, jewelry, and much more.

Groups raise between $100 and $2,000. The sales depend on the amount of people selling and how hard they are willing to work.

There are three main rules that groups sellings things must follow. Rule one is that there can only be one major sale per group per semester. Secondly, approval must be received from Mr. Burk. There also may be no competition between clubs in selling the same thing at the same time or the selling of food in classes.
