Thirteen Seniors Chosen, Commended |
||||||||||
| The National Merit Scholarship Corporation Program recently selected 13 seniors who had outstanding test scores to be commended students. Last year, these seniors took the PSAT-NMSQT test about this time. Approximately one million students took the test nationwide. The 13 seniors chosen from Maine West were Kathy Brand, John Brennan, Brian Frank, Karl Jackson, Elizabeth Kaminski, Maria Kiraly, Joel Kratochvil, Lisa Marquette, Arthur Murray, Kris Niemczyk, Robert Raczka, George Riech, and Tracy Scheffel.. |
The commended students who rank below the level required for merit program semi-finalists later will try for the Merit Scholarships. All the students have shown talent by being in the top five per cent of the student body. These students are hoping to be admitted to outstanding universities throughout the country and for some, receive financial aid. |
