Volleyball Team Strong, Looking Toward State

The varsity volleyball team has had their most successful season ever. They have an excellent chance of going down state, are seeded first in district play, and have a record of 24-5. No one has really given them any real support.

In conference play the varsity team beat New Trier West, 15-1 and 15-3, Waukegan East, 15-4 and 15-10, and Maine East, 15-8 and, 15-1. But they lost against Highland Park, 7-15, 15-5, and 13-15.

In non-conference play the varsity beat Deerfield, 15-13 and 15-8, Forest View, 15-7 and 15-9. and Downers Grove North, 15-13 and 15-9. In the Pumpkin Tourney Maine West beat all their opponents except Carl Sandburg.
In junior varsity play they have turned in a record of 17-3. The junior varsity beat Highland Park, 15-5 and 15-3, Deerfield, 15-11 and 15-12, New Trier West, 15-3 and 15-13, Forest View, 15-12 and 15-6, Waukegan East 15-5, 10-15, and 15-10, and Maine East, 16-14 and 15-3. They lost to Downers Grove North.

The freshman team has also had a good season with a record of 10-8. They beat New Trier West and Maine East. Unfortunately the freshmen lost to Highland Park, Deerfield, Forest View, and Waukegan East.

Even though the varsity volleyball team has been having a great season, to win the state championship they are going to need all the support they can get.
