Winter Dance To Be Held

Maine West's Winter Formal will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 1981. The theme of this year's dance is "Ice Castles." This event will be held in the auditorium from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The court, consisting of a girl from each class, will be crowned at approximately 9:15 that evening. The band, Horace Monster, will perform for the event.

At the end of ninth period today, school will be dismissed for Christmas vacation. Students will have a two-week break. Classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 5, 1981, at 8 a. m.

Final exams for first semester classes will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21; Thursday, Jan. 22; and Friday, Jan. 23.
The Polish Arts Club of Chicago has announced its thirty-fourth literary competition. This competition includes categories for both college and high school students. The three competitons open to high school students include essays or short stories in English, Polish, or a translation of Polish to English. Original essays should be between 700 and 1,000 words and about any Polish or American achievements in any area of endeavor. Polish to English translations are available by request from the Polish Arts Club.
