Folks Get Smarter As Kids
Grow Up

BY LIBBY CLAUS

Ever wonder how Santa Claus prepares for Christmas and decides what to give at this festive occasion to all the teachers and students who attend Maine West?

My father, who doesn't mind being called Santa, but prefers Sandy, counts on me. That's right, on little old me. So you'd better be good and I'm telling you why because I'm watching every move you make whether you're making fun of other kids, making fools of yourselves by doing something illegal, or making out.

He looks in his crystal ball at the teachers. He looks and sees if the teachers I never
had are being good; and the ones I have had, he asks me to rate to make sure they aren't making fun of my writing talent or my love life.

Have you written your letter to Santa this year? It's true that asking for something doesn't always do the trick either. It's often telling why you should have the gift that is important. I have had this experience since I was three years old.

So you see, You'd better watch how you act in front of me. Then you just have to be lucky that your parents aren't wise like the great Santa, or in my case, my father, with the help of his wonderful assistant, my mother.
