Tankers Even Record; |

| Last Friday the boys' swim team swam against Highland Park. They were defeated, 99-73. But on Saturday they came back at full tilt and defeated Buffalo Grove, 104-65. In Friday's meet, Ted Schwiger placed second in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.82. Scott Lehr got his personal best time of 2:16.23 placing second in the 200 I.M. John Gafrick swam a fast 23.98 in the 50 free, finishing in a close second place. In the 100 free, Gafrick took second with a 53.90. |
On Saturday the team had a clean sweep in the 50 free, 100 fly, and di-ving. Tim Kleich took first in the 100 brest with a time of 1:07.51. Gafrick swam a 1:02.47 in the 100 fly and placed second with Lehr close behind with a 1:02.98, placing third. On the J.V. level Mike Kratochvil took first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:16.20. John Westermayer swam a 1:02.92 in the 100 free. Jeff Waddell swam a 1:15.64 in the 100 breast placing first. Divers Kevin McCarthy and Scott Sasman have been keeping the meets close this year by scoring at least 190 points in each meet. The team's next meet is today at Waukegan East at 5:30. |
