New 'Student Council Corner' Feature Keeps Maine West Student Body Informed |
||||||||||
| Secret Admirer's Day was a great success! The homeroom representatives delivered 724 items in 15 minutes on the morning of Feb. 13. We would like to thank all those who contributed to this special event. For all those students who complained about the dances at Maine West being all the same, we have a treat in store for you. This year's Girl's Choice Dance will feature D.J. John Cohe from Joncro Mobile Concerts. This company recently spun records at Loyola University and Ignatius H.S. and was a great success. Along with Jon will be an electronic spotlight show, a fine sound system, and three hours of continuous music. Thirty new albums will also be given away on the evening of Mar. 14. Start thinking of the guy you want to represent your class for the King of Hearts Court. Nominations will be conducted in homeroom during the first week of March. |
A new fund raiser will enter Maine West Mar. 23. Student Council will begin a three-week subscription sale dealing with the Chicago Sun-Times. For further information contact your homeroom representative. Student Council is in the process of planning an in-school assembly to honor the winter sports. In connection with this, there will be the annual Penny Drive. Student Council is looking for representatives from each winter sport and a faculty member to pose for the drive. All proceeds will go to the Jim Walker Fund. The representative of the window with the most money will receive a pie in the face at the assembly. At last there is tentative date for the Spring Jam - Apr. 24. More information will be given next issue about time, place, and try-out tapes. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions just drop a note in the Suggestion Box outside the Student Council Office (R-103). |
