Art Students Win Awards |

| A regional Scholastic Art Exhibition Show was held at Hawthorne Shopping Center, in Vernon Hills on Feb. 21-26. Approximately 3,000 entries were submitted from 48 north suburban schools. Maine West students received a total of 104 awards. Out of these entries, seven students were honored with blue ribbons: Dan Barr '81, Pam Crespo '81 (2), Debbie Kowalski '81, Leeann Logsdon '83, Greg Stahl '81, and Patti Van Diggelen '81. Their work will be sent to New York for national competition with schools from other art work from different parts of the country. |
Maine West also received 32 Gold Key Awards. These students are Sue Androff '81 (2), Pam Crespo '81, John Dobbs '82, Corinne Graczyk '81, Steve Judson '82, Jim Keller '81, Maria Kiraly '81, Michele McGee '82, Lisa Markman '81 (2), Malcolm Mlodoch '82, Jeff Phillips '83, Angel Rogers '81, Debbie Techmer '81, Gail Wanzung '81, and Sue Weaver '81. Sixty-three students also received Certificates of Merit. Out of five possible Kodak Medallions for the region, Maine West won two. Karl Bitter '81 and Amy Zumbrock '83 received these awards for their outstanding photo entries. Their work will also be sent on to national competition. |
