West Prepares To Host District Career Night |
||||||||||
| Maine West will be the host of the twelfth annual Project BIG to be held on Tues., Apr. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. All four Maine schools are invited. Project BIG stands for Business, Industry, and Growth, according to Mr. James Killam, career counselor. Project BIG is a career night where everyone is invited to talk with people about their respective occupations. One can learn about the training necessary for specific jobs. Nearly 200 occupations will be represented, and students can talk to the representatives face to face and ask any questions which come to mind. A new theme this year represented at a table in |
the cafeteria by a married couple is "Marriage the full time job." The married couple will offer tips and answer questions about marriage, according to Mr. James Gary. Many unusual occupations will be represented at Project BIG, such as a stuntman. Students will also be able to see a mechanical robot. Project BIG will be held in the spectator gym and in the cafeteria. Tables for each occupation will be set up separately. Questions about what to do in the future as occupations can be answered at Project BIG. |
