Recently, Student Council took an informal poll concerning the tax referendum. The poll indicated the Maine West Student Council is supporting the referendum. Volunteers are encouraged to help in the campaign. Information brochures are available in the S.C. Office (L-103). Representatives have begun their sale of Sun-Times subscriptions. All proceeds will go into a special fund to reduce the cost of their annual banquet. Cash prizes will be awarded to students who sell the most. The Spring Jam has been postponed to a tentative date of Saturday, May 2. Try-out tapes can be turned into the S.C. Office until Apr. 10. The representatives will then vote on the two M.W. bands who will perform. Elections for S.C. offices will be Apr. 22 and 23. All those students who are interested in running for office must have at least one semester of Student Council, a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or better and 200 signatures of M.W. students on an official petition which can be obtained in the S.C. Office starting Apr. 6. For further information contact Angel Rogers, vice-president of Student Council. |
