Wrestlers open season
with comeback victory

"We are looking forward to a real successful season," said second year wrestling Coach Rick Lombardi. Seven returning lettermen and two returning district champions; as Cesar Blanco '83 and Mike Dorion '83 will pace the 1982-83 wrestlers.
On Saturday, November 20, the Warriors displayed a comeback win over rival Glenbrook South. Lupe Aguilar '86, John Fabbri '84, Bill Mendralla '84, and Neat Gillespie '84 all dropped close decisions to their opponents until Tim Judson '84 sparked the Warrior's rally to take the meet.

Judson pinned his opponent and was followed by a major decision by Jeff Baute '83 at 132, a pin by Jim Mazzochi '85 at 145, a pin by Cesar Blanco at 155, a pin by Mike Dorion '83 at 185, and finally a pin by George Iatrides '83 in the heavyweight match.
The wrestling team has elected tri-captains for the 1982-83 season; Steve Riportella '83, Scott Keane '83, and Dorion. Keane suffered a twisted knee during a pre-season practice session and will not see action for an indefinite period of time.
