President's Club plans West Fest
"West Fest", the Maine West spring carnival, is now in its final stages of preparation. Thirteen clubs and organizations from Maine West have asked to take an active part in the April 30 event scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be music, games and food for all ages.
The carnival company, Fundaways, will provide games for numerous clubs at Maine West. There will also be music, games and food. The school is trying to publicize the event to get a lot of participation. "We hope we have a lot of students come and participate," stated Mr. Burk.
Clubs participating in the carnival are Mat Maids, Home Economics Club, Key Club, Business Club, Pom Pon, Leaders, Class of '85, International Club, Scuba Club, Twirling Corp, German Club, West Women, and Student Council.
Some of the games at the West Fest will be ball and pin, basketball toss, circle race, clown bean bag toss, coin pool, cork gun golf game, hockey game, leap frog, lollypop tree, and pitch a chip.
"We promise an event filled with many games and prizes," stated Mr. Burk, assistant principal. "Everyone is welcome, admission is free. In the event that rain should occur, the carnival will take place inside the student cafeteria," he concluded.
