Six students achieve top honors
West names Maine Scholars
Maine Scholars represent the top 1 percent of the 1983 graduating class. This year six students have achieved this honor:
Preeti Parikh has been a member of the Historical Society. She is President of Math Club and Treasurer of the National Honor Society and has received Math and Language awards for four years.
Linda Fridley has been a member of the Historical Society, National Honor Society, and has received business, language, and social science awards.
Karen Hanson has participated in Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, Marching and Pep Bands. Karen has received three language awards and is a member of Math Club, National Honor Society, Thespians and Tri‑M.
Jennifer Anda has received various language, science and social science awards. She is also a member of the Historical Society and National Honor Society. Jennifer plans on attending the University of Illinois.
Eric J. Carlson is a member of Class Council, President of French Club, National Honor Society and Historical Society and Thespians. Eric has received a DAR silver medal and was named a National Merit Commendation award winner. Eric plans on attending Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Vivien Eschenbach has been on the Badminton and Volleyball teams, a member of West Women, powder puff football, and co‑captain of Pom Pon. She is secretary/treasurer of Historical Society, Senior Leader, and a member of National Honor Society. She has also received social science and language awards. Vivien will attend the University of Chicago.
