Class of '83 looks back
on memorable times at West
I, Paula Kirsh, remember all the friends I've made these past four years, all the cruises in THE NOV, parties, and Debbie who helped make my high school years worth remembering.

I, Colleen Kott, remember all the great times we had in Concert Choir. We had a lot of fun performing especially with the guys' special "choreography" for "Jericho."

I, Laurinda Kraft, remember all the fun times I have had with all the wonderful people in the LRC.

I, Patti LaGrippe, remember spring break at Daytona Beach with Laura, Gina, Mara, Maureen and Nanette. I remember all the great parties and all the fun times at football games. Most of all I remember my junior and senior year with Jeff. He has made my life so special and I will always love him no matter what he does.

I, Doreen Ligue, remember Chris Weijhner sliding back on her chair and falling over and landing on her head. Everybody was watching; I've never seen her so embarrassed.

I, LeeAnn Logsdon, remember sophomore gym class second period with Mind, Dip, Deb, and Barb always hasseling our senior leader, Go Down 2,3,4! I remember all the good parties and fun times at all the football and basketball games. I'll always remember all the great friends I've met, but especially John who made my senior year very speical!

I, Maureen McCartney, remember spending the past three years with my friends who are the greatest in assuring a good time, but the fourth year was especially great because I got to spend it with a very special person, who is always going to be special to me, MICHAEL.

I, Sophie Melko, remember all the parties I went to, the great friends I made, the teachers I had (especially Mr. Jannusch who I thought was the best looking teacher, and Coach Swearingen whose criteria I will never forget). I will never forget my four yrs. at M.W.; it truly has been a great experience.

I, Joe Metz, remember pear runs, Roxanne, Diane, and 2a.m. track meets. I especially remember the spirit of the Blade Runner when he blew me away in the half.

I, Sheryl Miller, remember sitting in first period PAR and admiring the most gorgeous guy in the entire school.

I, Sharon Miller, remember all the great parties especially Kevin Clifford's sophomore year (remember LeeAnn?) I'll always remember the friends I've made and good times I had especialy in the past with Jeff, the most important person in my life.

I, Laura Molitor, remember all the great times such as Scott counting down till breakfast at my party, New Year's Eve, Eva's halloween party, and meeting Barb, worrying about Joe Bob at JOJO's and of course the full moon.

We, Ron Maxwell and Kurt Fischer, remember B.M.O.C.

I, Paul Murphy, remember watching "Rocky" at the drivein. Also all of Herries' parties (till almost 12:00).

I, Kerry Nohelty, remember homeroom with Mr. Bragiel. He always managed to make homeroom interesting and fun and make the day seem not so bad.

I, Sharon Nowak, remember all the crazy things me and V.E. did and all the good times we've shared especially on "pig outs" and working on take home tests (sniff‑sniff). Also, I'll always remember Steve Wells and his frog.

I, Jean O'Boyle, remember all the fencing away meets at Maine South, New Trier and Gordon Tech, and nearly freezing half to death on the bus.

I, Julie Omland, remember the great times I had in Europe. I would like to give special thanks to Mr. Holbrook for making that special trip possible. Merci Beaucoup!

I, Robert Page, remember going to Illinois State University with Concert Choir for a state wide festival. The bus ride seemed to be the best part of all; everyone wished it would never end.

I, Renee Pawula, remember all the times people put me on top of the lockers and I couldn't get down.

I, Judith Proctor, remember V‑Shows and musicals, and all the fun they were, but especially the fast costume changes and paint fights. And of course, all the fun we had in Concert Choir.

I, Nancy Purcell, remember most the night of December 8, 1982, when my sister and I saw "The Who" first‑row center at the Rosemont Horizon, and when Roger Daltry gave me his harmonica after playing "Baba O'Riley" on it! (Thanks for the tickets J.M.!!)

I, Tina Randall, remember all the great times I had being on the tennis team, and all the people and friends I met.

I, Buffie Rea, remember when Mr. Silkowski looked at me straight in the eyes and told me he wanted me to stop into his office (which was a little corner of the room). He looked at me very seriously and told me in a very serious way that he wanted the truth. I thought I was in for it. Well, he then looked down at my inch‑long nails and asked if they were real. What a relief!
I, Krista Roehrig, remember being voted "the school that works."

I, Marcy Ann Romando, remember my biology class sophomore year at Maine North, Bud K. and his words of wisdom, 7th period PAR, and all the fun I had with Ernie and Wade, Christine, Patty, Steve and most of all D.S.

I, Patty Rucker, remember the last day of health class junior year, when Mr. Borowski did the "Health" cheer with us. I will always remember my two years at Maine North! I will never forget Marcy, Chris M., Chris D., Paul Jim, Billy, Mary and "Judo Boy".

I, Ken Ryan, remember the last varsity home football game when SOMEBODY turned off the lights during the half‑time show.

I, Suzanne Rydzinski, remember my junior year swimming class when the girls pushed Mr. Bubba Smith into the swimming pool. That was the best class.

I, Teresa Sajdak, remember shaking a jar of paint in Art, only to find out the lid wasn't on right and having it splatter all over my friends.

I, Laura Schachte, remember waiting for the weekend, waiting for Friday to come so you can go out with friends and party.

I, Diane Schroeder, remember all the good times I had in these halls and classrooms.

I, Leslie Schultz, remember all the friends I made, especially Sue Scott, for all the good times as well as bad, I also remember my sister Jennie for helping me to make it through high school, which took a lot.

I, Dan Schwartz, "Aldo" remember Scott Wastyn giving me my nickname "Aldo Cella" during sophomore baseball.

I, Sue Scott, remember all the great times I had at Maine North! But most of all, I remember Lolli, and how much of a friend she was to me.

I, Wendy Sejud, remember talking about life with Mary in first period par sophomore year and walking to school in the rain with Sheila that one strange morning freshman year.

I, Jenifer Serino, remember four great years of hard work, friendly people, interesting classmates, intriguing activities that led to the long awaited moment of receiving a diploma. Ironically, I'm not sure if I want that moment to come, possible going through those four years again?!

I, Cynthia Sherkey, remember all of the good and bad times I've shared with John Vers. He will always be a big memory of my four years at Maine West. I also will always remember being a winner with Mr. Kipp and the rest of the basketball team by traveling downstate as one of the Elite Eight.

I, Elizabeth Spielman, remember all the great times I had with my friends during basketball season of freshman year. That was the most memorable time for me. We all shared so much fun and it was great to be part of an undefeated team.

I, Craig Stettner, remember the words "on the line" that resounded through my ears for three years of basketball.

I, Mark Studtmann, remember the day the marching band missed the circus parade and marched down Touhy Ave. by themselves.

I, Marianne Szarzynski, remember staying up all night at Lake Opeka and practicing for pom‑pon tryouts.

I, Pete Szwed, remember the night the lights went out during half time. It was too easy K.R.

I, Bob Tortorelli, remember when Mr. Talbot cut me from the sophomore basketball team.

I, Marc ter Horst, remember all the nights I spent doing homework instead of sleeping.

I, Cindy Verre, remember my senior year at Maine West. Every one is so nice and friendly it wasn't long before I made friends. I like to thank my friends who made my year worthwhile. Laurie S., Donna C., Amy Z., Laura P., and Dana Pape. Thank you!!

I, Jeff Waddell, remember the most boring time I'll ever have, extended homeroom.

I, Scott Wastyn, remember setting the new school record in golf my freshman year. I remember it because the three seniors I set it with then welcomed me on the team.

I, Chris Weijhner, remember all the good times I had in second period par, especially when I pushed back my chair and it flipped over. Real funny, huh Doreen?

I, Trudy Weissmantel, remember sophomore year in German class when Mr. Curtis called everyone carrots.

I, Lance Wierenga, remember the Maine East football game during the 1980 season because of the strong encouragement of Coach Carstens.

I, Rose Zegler, remember when we, the volleyball team won third in state even though it was a boring game.
