an exciting Homecoming week
by Karen Damascus

Homecoming ’86 festivities came to a close on Saturday, October 18.  The celebration lasted throughout the spirit week until the dance Saturday night.

At the pep rally on Friday morning, everyone was enthusiastic, but the Senior class dominated the class competitions, losing only one game to the sophomores, and wining the spirit jug.  In the window decorating contest, WMTH radio placed third, West Women took second and Artist’s Unlimited won first place.

Earlier in the week, students voted for Homecoming King and Queen.  This year’s court consisted of: Scott Riley, Ann Clark, Larry Maihack, Carla Cavalier, Erwin Danan, Joann Lindley, Bill Kuta, Nancy Silicani, Tom Stanko, and Jody Reese.

At the pep assembly Friday, everyone in the gym watched as Bill Kuta and Nancy Silicani were named 1986 King and Queen.  Nancy states, “It was really special and exciting to me.  I still can’t believe it !”

Friday night the Freshman pulled to victory over the Senior class tug of war.  The Sophomore soccer team lost to the Waukegan West Raiders and the varsity lost 3-1.

Saturday afternoon, the sopomore football team fell to the Raiders 42-12 and the varsity lost 21-6.

Homecoming ’86 ended with the dance “Let the Good Times Roll”, Saturday night.
