"Careers in Home Economics," a series of four programs to be given starting in October through December, will be sponsored by the home economics departments of Maine West and East according to Mrs. Lucille Stiles, home economics department chairman.
"All girls are invited to these meetings," disclosed Mrs. Stiles. "We plan to help the college‑bound girl to decide about her career. We are going to stress the fact that when you prepare for a career in home economics, you are preparing for marriage as well, so it is a good investment.
After a joint meeting of administrators, deans, counselors, social workers, psychologists, and junior high home ec teachers on October 3 at Maine West, the programs will officially get underway for the public on Thursday, October 5 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the student lounge.
