"Minerva, who is that slender, tall, blond, senior girl wearing sandals?"
"Why, Gerty don't you know? That is popular Marilyn Manny. She is a member of Historical society, Brotherhood society, National Honor society, Theater club, senior leaders, and she is also a class council alternate, and the secretary of Student Council."
"You don't mean to tell me that she has green eyes and wears blue‑tinted contact lenses?
"Yes, that's Marilyn. Some of her friends say that she is known to never eat lunch. She also has a job in the snack bar at the "Y". Even though she does claim to snack a great deal, she doesn't look like it."
"Minerva, did you know that Marilyn is very active, but she still finds time to knit, water ski, swim, and collect quotations?"
"No, I didn't know that, but I do know that swiss cheese is Marilyn's favorite food, and that she enjoys baking pies and eating them."

"I also heard that Marilyn thought that Camp Chely, a student council workshop in Estes Park, Colorado, was her most outstanding memory of Maine West."
"Say, Gerty, you had better stop talking about other people, because one of Marilyn's favorite quotations is 'Those who are up in the air harping on other people aren't always angels'."
"Another thing I know is that Marilyn thinks that more honor in the honor studies would help to improve the school. Marilyn also commented that if she could have two wishes she would wish to join the Peace Corps and also learn how to snow ski."
"Sure hope Marilyn's wishes come true, Gerty. I hear she plans on going into languages and the foreign service field when she graduates. I think I can write a story for the paper now. Thanks for all your help. 'Bye."
