Parents Will Plan Seniors'
After Prom 'Dream Trip'

Seniors of Maine West are to be treated to a fabulous "Late Date" party by their parents after their prom, June 1.

The plan calls for couples to change and check their Prom clothes in the gym at Maine West at midnight as the Prom in the cafeteria ends. A light meal will be served. Couples will board buses to the Des Plaines station where a special train will be waiting. Departure time tentatively is scheduled for 2 a.m.

Baggage cars throughout the train will be decorated for dancing and entertainment. It will "rock" along at a slow speed arriving at Willams Bay at 6 a.m. During this time, games and entertainment of all sorts will occupy the couples' time besides dancing. Soft drinks and potato chips will be served by fathers as waiters and aids to see that everyone has a good time. The only mothers aboard will be registered nurses.

At Willams Bay, excursion boats will transport the couples from the "Dream Train" to the college camp where a huge breakfast will be served by the camp staff at 7 a.m.

Following this will be such recreation as badminton, croquet, golf, horseshoes, tennis, volleyball, ping pong, hiking, softball, and swimming. Excursion and speed boats will take couples on trips around the lake.

Climax of the day will be an outdoor chuck wagon barbecue at 11 a.m. by the camp staff on Sunset ridge overlooking the bay. Couples will be returned to their cars in the Maine West parking lot.

The seniors are supporting initial expenses incurred by placing deposits on the dates at the camp, boat services, and the train trip through advance payments of $5. The entire cost per couple will be $25.

This event cannot be successful without the support of the parents. They will have an opportunity to indicate their wishes next week when questionnaires will be distributed in homeroom. Parents are urged by the committee to take an active part in this event.
