The Lions club‑sponsored Pancake Day will be held March 31, in the Maine West cafeteria from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone, including adults and children, is invited to come and eat all the pancakes, sausages, and milk or coffee he can. The tickets, $1 for adults and 50 cents for children under 12, will be sold at the door.

In the past, the Lions club donated the trophy case in front of the auditorium and the scoreboard in the pool area. This time the proceeds will be used for sidewalks on the south side of Oakton from Maine West to Lee street, on Fourth avenue from Oakton north toward Forest school, and on the north side of Rand road from Grove street to Hawthorne Lane.
