Music Department Performs
In Annual Festival, May 18

Friday, May 18, marks the third annual May Music festival to be performed at Maine West. Participating in the last concert of the year will be the band, choral, and orchestral organizations.

Under the direction of Mr. Robert Kuite, music department director, and Mr. Jared Spears, music teacher, the band will play "Washington Post March" by Sousa, the "Ogden Nash Suite" by Bilik part 2 'Seaside Serenade" and part 4 'A Caution to Hillbilly Singers, Herpists, Harpoonists, Channelswimmers, and People First in Line for World Series Tickets" by Paul Nettinga, soloist, and other selections.

Excerpts from "Gigi" by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe will be one of the Concert Orchestra's contributions to the evening, along with Richard Rodger's "Victory At Sea", headed by Mrs. Mildred Heidorn, music teacher.

Also, highlighting the evening will be the Girl's chorus singing Richard Rodger's "With a Song In My Heart", "Sebben Curdele" sung in Italian will be presented by the Girl's Glee club, and an American folk song "Lonesome Road" will be sung by the Boy's chorus.

The A cappella choir will present "Nelly Bly" by Stephan Foster. A special attraction will consist of the Choraliers singing a madrigal called, "Mistress Mine" and "Deaf, the Deaf Old Woman".

Tickets will be sold at the door for $1, although admission will be granted upon the presentation of activity tickets, or Music Booster's passes.
