Jaycees Hold Teen Road‑e‑o

The Des Plaines Jaycees will hold their annual Teenage Roade‑o in the rear parking lot of Maine West this year.

The date of this precision driving contest is set for Wednesday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In case of poor weather, the Road‑e‑o will be postponed until the following Wednesday, May 23. Any student holding a valid driver's license is eligible.

The contest will be just as it was last year, consisting of a written test to be conducted by driving instructors, and a driving test to be conducted by the Jaycees. The judges will be both state and local police. The prizes issued will be a plaque for both winners of the girls' and boys' division, as well as Honorable Mention certificates to the runners‑up.

The winners in last year's contest were Gail Benes '62, and Dick Lutz '63. This year's contest chairman is Mr. Richard Beelendorf.
