Maine West's varsity tennis team tied for sixth place with Maine East in the district meet held last Saturday on West's own courts.

The squad, with a 2 and 2 record, now is in sixth place in the Interim league. The wins against East Leyden and Niles West were both 4-1 routes while Prospect edged out West's netmen 3-2.

The team's next meet will be held at Elgin on Monday, May 14 and will start at 4:30 pm. On Tuesday the netmen will host the Glenbrook Spartans at 4:30 pm. The State meet will be held Friday and Saturday May 18 and 19.
