LEADING THIS YEAR'S sophomore tennis team is Jim Manny. So far this season he has compiled a 5-2 record. In conference, the team has 3 wins and 4 losses and an overall record of 4 wins and 5 losses. Tony Glassier backs up Manny's record in singles with 4 wins and 2 losses.
"THIS IS THE BEST frosh‑soph track team we've ever had," stated Coach Joe Jobst. The only meet the sophomores lost was against Evanston. In the conference meet, the sophomore cindermen captured second place. Dominating the hurdles was Bruce Congalton, who placed first in the high hurdles and third in the low hurdles, while Bob Tatge, placed second in the high hurdles and fourth in the low hurdles. Freshman Bill Rosenburg took fourth in the shot put, while Volker Engle captured fifth. Coming down from the varsity, Larry Pintuck tied for second in the pole vault.
"In two years," summed up Coach Jobst, "we will have the greatest varsity in the world."
ANDREW "STONEY" JACKSON leads the frosh diamondmen to a 6-2 non-conference record and a 5-2 conference record. Thus far this season Stoney has won 6 out of the 8 games they've played, including their victory over Prospect with a score of 9 to 4 on May 5.
DAVE AEGERTER IS leading the sophomore diamondmen with a .550 batting average. The sophomores are in a tie for first place in conference with 4 wins and 1 loss.
Mr. Dave Kennedy and Mr. Wally Hommerding are the coaches of the sophomore diamondmen. Mr. Hommerding remarked that they have many good players and are expecting to take conference
MR. GENE ZUCCARINI, coach of the frosh‑soph golf team explained, "We shoot good golf at times, but not at the right times." He also related that the team is getting better as the year goes by.
The teams' standings are 2 wins and 5 losses in conference, and 3 wins and 6 losses out of conference. Hank Blenner '64, Craig Ervin '65, Bob Pemoller '64, Roger Raus '65, and Clyde Rowells '65, make up the team.
