"Playing in a match against the state champion my sophomore year was my biggest thrill at Maine," related Tim "Shank" Richards, this week's Warrior: "Even though I lost I felt it was quite an honor."
"Shank," as he is called by his teammates because of a certain mishap during the Glenbrook meet, came out for golf his sophomore year with only one year's experience behind him. On account of his consistency, he immediately captured the number one spot on the team and has maintained this position for Coach David Henry's stickmen ever since.
Tim has been elected Most Valuable for the past two years and with an impressive 5-2 record this year. It looks as if he's heading for a three year term. This is an honor bestowed upon very few lettermen.
Showing his interests in other sports, he was out for baseball his freshman year, and basketball his sophomore year. He also enjoys playing park district basketball.

This brown‑haired, brown-eyed athlete spends most of his time either playing golf or with a certain brown‑haired, brown-eyed, senior, girl. Tim enjoys summer because he can engage in some of his favorite pastimes of fishing, water skiing, and swimming. He claims he could live on his favorite food is shrimp and steak.
In forecasting about this years team, Tim remarked, "Our past teams have been lacking depth. That's why we haven't been doing so well. This year's team has more depth and has improved greatly. We are currently in second place with a 4-2 record in conference and should finish among the top three teams."
Even with all his activities Tim manages to keep a B‑average in his school work. He plans to enter into dentistry and will attend University of Illinois next year to start his predentistry work.
