Floats, Game Assure Fans
Color, Action

Pom‑poms and pony tails aren't the only things that will be bobbing with the excitement of the Homecoming game with Glenbrook tonight at 6 p.m. There will be nervous giggles and an aura of suspense as the five Homecoming semi‑finalists, who were chosen Thursday, October 13 during assemblies, await the golden moment when one will be chosen to reign as queen.

The semi‑finalists are Marilyn Alfini, Judy Arndt, Gayl Hammerton, Sandy Mustradi, Donna Pipenhagen, Nicki Rappaport, Gretchen Rider, Roberta Schorr, Carolyn Schwab, and Barb White.

Gail Schellin, head of the organizations committee of Student Council, announced that the escorts for the queen and her court will be Joe Figard, Bruce Johns, Al Koch, Bruce Parsons, and John White.

"Napkins, newspapers, and: 'grave yard grass' are among the materials that will be used in the creation of floats,' revealed Marilyn Manny, secretary of Student Council.

The floats will be "unveiled" as they begin their journey at 4:30 p.m. tonight from Cumberland to the game at Maine East. Among these floats are the four class floats, Stagecrafter's float and the combined Boys club and Girls club float.

The cheerleaders are sponsoring the sale of "mums" for $1.50 for girls who want to feel like Homecoming queens.
