New Teacher, Dennis Fan?

"Feet on the floor!" and "Stop talking!" can be heard above the din of typewriters and the scratching of pens on stenopads in Miss Coral Weber's typing and Steno I classes.

A 1961 graduate of Valparaiso university, this blonde‑haired, blue‑eyed teacher's hometown is Chicago. She attended Luther North, where she was editor of the school newspaper for two years.

When Miss Weber isn't correcting papers, she enjoys playing bridge, reading (Dennis the Menace), and participating in sports.

One of the many new faces among the faculty of Maine West is Mr. Garth Boyer, speech and dramatics teacher. He came from East High school in Sioux City, Iowa, where he taught speech and dramatics.

Mr. Boyer's middle name might be "actor," for he has much experience in the theater. In Sioux City he played the leading parts in many plays held be the Community theater. Mr. Boyer's experience also extends to television. He was a sportscaster, an interviewer, commercial announcer, and also a conductor of a children's show. Mr. Boyer related that he has been connected with TV for eight years.

Mr. Boyer attended Indiana State university, North Carolina state university, and Clemson in South Carolina. He has his bachelors degree in physical education and his masters in speech and drama.

During World War II, he served three and one half years in the army, including two years overseas, as a combat engineer.

He is married and has six children ‑ three boys and three girls.
