Unheralded heroes of the halls! Keeping the halls quiet and free of unwanted persons are those wonderful students the hall monitors.
How many students are willing to give up the friendly, cheerful atmosphere of the study halls for the loneliness of the halls? Not many, as is well known.
Carrying out the duties of a hall monitor is difficult responsibility. Imagine the feelings of a hall monitor when someone calls him a "fink" After all it was his duty to report his "cutting buddy."

The rewards offered are few, but a hall monitor's badge may be taken away for a small infraction of the rules. If he is stumped on some phase of homework, and a fellow monitor is asked for help, both could lose their badges.
Next time, don't look down your nose at the hall monitor. If it wasn't for these brave students, no one would go to his next class.
