Twenty‑three days before Christmas, seniors will be taking the College Entrance Examination Board Scholastic Aptitude test.
The SAT, is a three hour test of reasoning ability which will be used, along with high school records, letters of recommendation, and interviews to help colleges select their students from the many applying for admission. Each college interprets the scores according to its own standards, which are based on the ability necessary to succeed at that particular school. Scores are sent to Maine West with accompanying pamphlets of explanation on how they should be interpreted and Mr. Alfred Cochrane, college counselor, will be available for further help.

An additional fee of $2.50 will be charged for all registrations not filed before November 4, and none will be accepted after November 18.
The exam will be held on December 2, from 8:30 to 12:30 at specially designated test centers listed in the information pamphlets.
