GAA Netters Like Winning

After four tennis matches in the first year of competing in this sport with other schools, the GAA has a nearly unblemished record.

The seven girls making up the team, Marilyn Davis '64, Jean Fischer '64, Leslie French '65, Lynn Holm '63, Kem Lenke '63, and Pat Stein '63, are after a clean sweep in their remaining matches.

Evanston did hand the girls a setback in the first encounter, but the GAA'ers were missing their two key players.

Defeated schools were:
Glenbrook 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0;
Maine East 6‑0, 6‑3, 6‑0;
Niles West 6‑0, 6‑3, 6‑4, 6‑0;
Glenbrook (second match) 8-6, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1.

Coach and sponsor Miss June Thompson, who is new to the girls' physical education staff this year, has put her background of experience in tennis to good usage in instructing the team. New white sweatshirts, which were purchased by the GAA, are worn by the girls.

The next action will be a rematch with Evanston to avenge the only defeat.
