Students Express Feelings About
Proposed Fieldhouse

"Why do you think Maine West should have a field house?" was asked of various members of the student body. Here are some of the answers.

"So that we can have an all school assembly and basketball games at our school." Tom Carlin '62.

"Either give us a field house or heat the area between B and C wings." Jim Burgett '63.

"I would like to graduate from my own school, instead of having the graduation at Maine East." Clyde Rowells '65.

"We shouldn't depend on Maine East because we don't have any ties with them." Jan Virostko '64.

"So the teams using the field house will be proud to represent our school in athletic contests." Frank Vaia '63.

"What's a school without a field house?" Donna Carlson '65.

"It's silly to keep going to Maine East because we're both separate schools." Marianne Manke '62.

"More kids would come and it would help to promote school spirit." Bob Means '65.

"Because we are infringing on Maine East's hospitality." Donna Weise 63.

"To eliminate the problem of grasshoppers jumping on us during all‑school assemblies." Luanne Ball '63.

"Because it's too hard to share a fieldhouse." Kay Klotz '64.

"If we paid so much for a new school, it should be complete." Pat Breither '63.

"Whenever we have a game, we must take Maine East's schedule into account. We can't use the fieldhouse whenever we want to. It would be much easier to have our games at our own school. All the other schools have their own, and this creates a bad impression for us." Jim Gilmore '63.

Barb Georgans '63, "So we can have all‑school assemblies.

Tom Prochaska '63, "My opinion depends on whether it's going to be a fieldhouse or just a gymnasium. I'm a little confused!"

Marilyn Probst '63, "So we can have a place to celebrate election week."

Al Waters '63, "A fieldhouse would help the basktball team.
