"Should Red China be admitted to the United Nations" will be the topic of a talk to be given December 6 to the social science students by General Frank T. T. Sia, Nationlist Chinese Consulate to Chicago Consulate General Sia will be guest speaker of Mr. E. U. Edstrom, social science teacher. The lecture will be given in the school auditorium during eighth period.
"This program will be presented to the United States history and history of civilization students," remarked Mr. Edstrom. Those students who have an eighth period study hall are also cordially invited to attend the lecture, but they must present a hall pass from their social science teacher. Consulate General Sia's lecture will be taped and rebroadcast on WMTH.
The purpose of this lecture is to enlighten the student to the world around him. The real danger today is from the communist dictatorships in the Soviet Union and Communist China. The admission of Red China will help to weaken our influence in the United Nations. The Soviet Union will have another Communist-bloc country in the U.N. to present a united front against the free world. Red China is gaining votes towards becoming a member of the United Nations.
