Big Mail Rush Is Expected

"Two hundred sixty‑four four-cent stamps, please."

"Two hundred sixty‑four? My, you must have a lot of friends."

"Yes, with all the kids at school, everything adds up."

"Say, haven't you heard of the Boys' Club Christmas Post Office? You can send cards to any student at Maine West or Maine East for the nominal price of two cards for a nickel."

"Yes, I do remember hearing that it began on December 14. But how do I do it? Where do I mail the cards?"

"It's simple, really. Just put the name and homeroom code number on the envelope. If you want to send one to Maine East, just put the word "EAST" on the envelope

along with the other information. When the cards are addressed, mail them in the girls' dressing room behind the stage. The cards will be delivered in the homerooms by Boys' club members. I was talking the other day to Mr. Ralph Caprio, the club's sponsor, and he said, 'In light of the turnout last year, I urge all students to get their cards in early.' By the way, I hear Randy Burmeister, class of '63, is in charge of the post office."

"Why is the Boys' club doing this?"

"The Boys' club promotes many worthy projects during the year and the proceeds from the post office help to finance these."

"Well, that's a pretty good deal, thanks a lot. I guess I won't be needing those stamps after all!"
