Christmas Spirit
by Sue Leham

These last days haven't passed so fast,
But Christmas time has come at last.

As I hear the church bells clear,
They bring, along with them a tear

Of happiness to my eye.
This is Christmas spirit.

I think of the babe born this night
And the star above that shone so bright.

Wise men came with gifts from afar,
Guided by that shining star

With the knowing, twinkling eye,
This is CHRIST-mas spirit.

There is more to the Christmas spirit,
Many small things add cheer to it;

Crisp, cold days, bright and sunny,
Santa Clauses, fat and funny,

With a glint in each merry eye.
This is Christmas spirit.
