Attacked!

by Edward Churney

I was visiting at my grandmother's farm during Christmas vacation. One day, I stepped out to get some fresh air. I was midway through a field when suddenly millions of them appeared from nowhere. They seemed to be everywhere. I tried to escape, but I couldn't. I thought maybe if I hid under this tree, but no, they were there too.

This tree? No! Maybe behind this bush? No! I just couldn't get away. I had to get to the farmhouse. Starting to run as fast as I could, I stumbled. There were more now than ever. I started running again. They came rushing at my eyes, blinding me. Still I struggled on. Finally, realizing my escape was impossible, I fell. Soon I became covered by them. I just couldn't get away from all those snowflakes.
