Miss Myrna Loring, a cosponsor of Girl's Club and an English teacher, is originally from Camden, Illinois, and was graduated from the University of Illinois with a major in English.
On being asked if she advised students to go into teaching, Miss Loring replied, "Yes. It's not easy, but it's very rewarding."
She enjoys reading and sewing in her spare time and especially likes sports, her favorite being football. She explains that this is probably because, as a cheerleader, she used to run along with the referee in an attempt to decipher the plays. Her hobbies include singing, horse‑back riding, playing the piano, and tennis.
Her future plans include earning her Master's degree, and a continued career in teaching. Also this summer, she intends to tour Europe with Miss Natalie Moment, French teacher, and Miss Carol Coffman, English teacher.

Mr. F. Hadley Bailey, mathematics instructor, has been teaching for 10 years. Before coming to Maine, he taught in Iowa Esterville Junior college and high school, and Bettendon High school.
He attended Iowa university, where he earned his BA and Master's degree in mathematics, and also Miami university, the University of Alaska, and the University of Indiana on fellowship courses.
"Maine West is run in an orderly fashion," Mr. Bailey observed, "except for the fact that it is sometimes difficult to compete with the noise which goes on between half periods. I think Maine has a school system of which the students should be proud."
For entertainment Mr. Bailey enjoys playing bridge, but he explained that he doesn't get a chance to play as often as he would like to like. He also likes to read and travel. During Christmas vacation, he went to Colorado, and next summer, he hopes to travel to France and visit some relatives. Although Mr. Bailey doesn't consider himself a good dancer, he won a dance contest doing the jitterbug, which he used to teach.
