Thinclads Open Cinder Season

Lee Wolf '62, Ray Leonardson '62, Chuck Well '62, Rich Samlow '62, Bob Wagner '63, and Earl White '64, are the returning lettermen with which head track coach Joseph Jobst is planning to lead this year's track team to its third consecutive conference title. The team has never once been on the losing side in the last 28 dual meets.

The first of 25 meets this season brought Glenbard East to the Maine East fieldhouse yesterday. The next two meets, both home contests, are against Taft and Austin. Last year West beat Taft 82‑18 and Austin by a score of 76 2/3 to 23 1/3.

This year's track team, unlike the team of last season, is weak in some events. Its strong spots include the half-mile, 440‑yard dash, four‑lap relay, mile relay, and the broad‑jump.

Evanston and Oak Park are two teams that will give the thinclads a rough time. The Warriors are entered in four major relays throughout the indoor and outdoor season.

The Warriors have been winners of the Evanston relays. They also took third place in the Oak Park relays and fourth place in the Maine East relays last season.
