Brotherhood Week Here
Have you decided who your nominee for Brotherhood award will be? Better hurry, the decision will be made tomorrow morning in homeroom.

This year's assemblies will be held the second and third periods of the day on February 16. Mr. Robert Wells, assistant principal, will present the new members with their citations, when the present Brotherhood society will be announced to the student body. "No Man Is An Island," a selected song, will be sung especially for these assemblies by the Maine West Choraliers.

Mrs. Edith Sampson, a Negro lawyer from Chicago, will be this year's speaker. Mrs. Sampson, who can be found in the 1949 issue of Current biography, is a very prominent lady.
She had been a delegate to the United Nations and belongs to both the National and Chicago Bar associations. She is the chairman of the executive committee of the National Council of Negro women, which encourages outstanding Negro women leaders.

She is a life member of the National Association of Women lawyers and is a member of the executive board of the United Nations association of Chicago. She has served 18 years as a probation officer and referee on the Juvenile Court of Chicago.
