"Doesn't her father own Probst's drug store in Des Plaines?"

"Yes, she works there in the summer, and does she brighten up the store!"

"Come to think of it, I've seen her practicing for Pom‑Pom squad after school on Mondays and Thursdays, and I've heard that she spends most of her spare time making up routines for it."

"Hey, I just remembered something I heard after Christmas vacation. Seems Marilyn went to a New Year's Eve party in Park Ridge and no one she knew was there. She made her grand entrance by falling down the stairs."

"I've heard that her worst habit is chewing pencils. Her favorite foods are pizza, root beer, and steaks with mushrooms. She also likes to talk to people and try to understand them. That's probably why she's planning to major in psychology at Northern Illinois university."

"I overheard a friend of hers say that her pet peeve is people who criticize others when they, themselves, need improvement. She also said that Marilyn liked her sophomore year best, which is different from most seniors. She likes family living, Spanish, and English, and thinks that many students lack school spirit."

"Hasn't she been on Pom‑Pom squad for two years, in V‑show, and on Girls' Club council last year?"

"Yup. That's Marilyn, always on the go."
